Overwhelm and Mindset
What does Mindset have to do with it?
Did you know there are 2 kinds of mindset?
Fixed mindset
Things we learned from our parents as we were growing up.
The belief that we were all given certain talents and that’s all we can do.
Not believing we can change. This is the way we were taught; this is all there is for me.
Growth mindset.
That whatever abilities we have, we can learn and grow and make them better. Technology
We can change, no matter what we were taught growing up, by changing our mindset
We just need to change our brain pattern and the way we think, believe and act.
Story
Our thoughts have become Automatic.
Maybe neg thought just keep coming up
We need to learn to take control of our thoughts.
Or maybe we just get obsessed about something in our life that has happened that we can’t do anything about.
Or maybe can't even control your mind
Can't concentrate or stay focused on things.
Need to master our mind.
Our brain has one function, that is to keep us safe. And it doesn’t care how it does it.
So sometimes when we are trying to change our behavior patterns for the good, or the brain says stop, that's not safe. That has hurt before. Just stay safe and comfortable,
You’ve tried to change before, it didn’t work. Just be safe.
The subconscious doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies. So whatever you tell it the most. It believes.
So we need to program our brain to think positive instead of negative.
Neg thoughts and feelings, emotions, are the easy way.
Create our own thoughts and train our brain.
When we want to become a better version of ourselves, we need to create our own thoughts and train our brain
We are unconscious sometimes and we just go through the motions.
We need to be conscious of what our thinking is.
Some people who have recurring negative thoughts come up because they are giving negative thoughts more attention than positive.
If you keep obsessing about negative things. Your mind will be conditioned to bring up negative things without you even thinking about it.
Can work that way for the positive too! Same rule can apply to the positive for a long time and eventually we will automatically think of the positive things.
Pay attention to our thoughts
On a very continual way you need to pay attention to your thoughts. Any time you are in line, what are my thoughts right now,
Sitting at the doctor's office, what are my thoughts?
Sitting at a red light.
When we are aware and redirect, we are practicing positivity.
Redirect thoughts How?
By thinking the opposite. Think about the positive. Visualize a more positive outcome. Close your eyes and visualize the positive outcome. Sense it, believe it. With a lot of duration.
Your mind might want to go back to easy, you say, no I'm not into easy. I'm into retraining my life.
We aren’t going to just get up one morning and never think negative thoughts and not have stress or overwhelm.
When it comes up, we just continue to focus on the positive.
Call to action:
Ask Yourself: Who do I want to Be?
Then put in play some of the skills I’ve given you.
Decide to have a growth mindset, so you can change behavior patterns and be calmer and less stressed and overwhelmed.
Then start being aware of your thoughts and mindset. So you can start working on your mind set.
