Pythagoras would teach his secret uneducated (eggheads) initiates that the earth was flat in secret, and teach the heliocentric model to the educated uninitiated elite in public. If Pythagoras excepted you into his secret society he kept all your riches if you failed initiation then you were rejected and you recieved twice your riches back.
