FENTON Lives On! | VINTAGE Redos & Tales from the CRAFTSMAN

The factory in Williamstown, West Virginia may be closed, but its spirit lives on! We see how Fenton artists have moved on to create wonderful new works of art and glass, helped a amazing church become a Basilica, and are taking the skills and talent to a new generation through glass blowing, painting and fashioning fun, sweet and strong designs, from traditional florals to mid-century modern show stoppers.

We meet Linda Fleming, one of a handful of Fenton decorators who continue to create new designs on old blanks today! While some find it controversial that old glass is their pallet, it makes perfect sense when you hear their stories, their connection to the venerable factory and their love for creating their art. Best of all, these beauties are available to us today!

After a lovely boat ride, we get to talk to Fenton designer Dave Fetty, an octogenarian who is still creating glass and is known for his famous ‘Hanging Hearts’ design, Connoisseur lines and art ware. Hear how he and others worked their way up from line workers to master crafters, painters and creators of lovely pieces collectors still enjoy today.
