National Gallery - Singapore in a Minute

Anyone visiting the city should definitely add the National Gallery Singapore to their bucket list of things to do. Not only does it house the largest public collection of modern art in Singapore & Southeast Asia but they collaborate with the most prestigious museums around the world to bring a constant stream of exciting exhibits to Singapore. As for me, I was staying just a few blocks away at Marina Mandarin but sadly only had about an hour to spare. So I chose to explore the museum and soak in its gorgeous interiors, its history, and the architecture instead of the art itself ... and I'm so happy I did!

What comprises the National Gallery Singapore today is actually what was once the old Supreme Court and City Hall buildings from colonial times. The restoration of these buildings into the Gallery is truly special, with some rooms being left intact, or items of furniture like jury pulpits, thus turning them into art themselves in their converted home.
