(See lyrics below)

When God is silent, at times it's difficult for our souls, even though He never leaves or forsakes us. The righteous walk by faith ("but at times the righteous walk by what they see"). It can feel like we're at the end of our faith-rope, and we have to just tie a knot in that rope and hold on. The truth is, though we feel like we're hanging on to that knot for all we're worth, God is holding on to us. Nobody (at least nobody I ever spoke to) likes these times of silence, but we will experience them if we stick around long enough.
This song deals with how it feels, what the truth really is, and it's also the only song I've used "peanut butter" in the lyrics (and will very likely remain so).

Deep Calls To Deep

I'm on my knees if you please but my words are thick and stick like peanut butter.
I know you're near and you hear but I fear, that the only thing I can do is stutter.
But you are ever faithful,
Exceedingly abundantly beyond,
All that I ask or think
You give me living water to drink,
O Lord you call out to me.
Deep calls to deep
Deep calls to deep
Deep calls to deep
I know you're there and you care but at times the righteous walk by what they see.
I'm at the end can't pretend that I have the wherewithal to now decree:
That you are ever faithful, and even when my faith cannot be found,
Your Love watches over me,
ever abundantly,
O Lord you call out to me.
Chorus
And when I'm looking at your face,
Simply setting a slower pace,
Drinking deeply from streams of grace, I hear...
Chorus
