This bar chart race shows the estimated infections and infection fatality rate (IFR) by country and world, from January 1st to October 17th in 2022.

Estimated infections is not the same as number of people who have been infected. One individual can be infected twice or more.

Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) is calculated as accumulated confirmed deaths in percentage of accumulated estimated cases. In this case, a 14 day lag is used for death numbers. The death numbers do not take into account accumulations before 2022, and represents this year only.
