European Council president's speech for trade expo canceled by China

The organisers of the 5th China International Import Expo held back a pre-recorded opening ceremony speech by the European Council president wherein he called for reduced EU trade dependency on China, European diplomats said. Charles Michel had also criticised Russia's "illegal war" in Ukraine in the pre-recorded message provided for the state-organised expo in Shanghai, the diplomats added.
