CH40: Visiting National Park Pengang ❤️ #travel #malaysia

Hi, and welcome to #Penang, #Malaysia! We are staying in Batu Ferringhi, very close to the #National #Park of Penang. Come with us while we explore!

A few tips for when you want to visit Penang National Park:
👉Take the bus! (line 101 or 102 Rapid Penang). It is easy and they drop you off right in front of the gate (edit: last few bus stops are currently closed, so check before you go. Otherwise it is a 15-minute walk from the nearest bus stop to the entrance)

👉 Entrance fee is free! You do need to register when you arrive (because of Covid) so don't forget your pasport and a phone with an internet connection.

👉 You have the option of taking a boat to one of the three popular beaches, so you don't have to hike. Expect to pay 90 - 200 Ringet p.p. one way, depending on which beach and how far it is.

👉 There are a few hiking trails ranging from 30 minutes to 4 hours. Bring good shoes especially when it has rained, it can get slippery. Also bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent, water and snacks/food.

👉 For the young kids there is an easy to walk path that takes you to a nice beach in 15 minutes (the first part of the trail right after the main entrance). Here you can swim, see monkeys, walk the bridge and take nice photo's. Since I was alone this time we two kids, we did this 😉 If you can, certainly take the hike further into the jungle and enjoy nature!
(edit: when I was there the hiking trail to Monkey Beach was closed. So if you plan on doing this, please check in advance what the status is. Otherwise it is still accessible by boat, only this will cost you).
