A high-fat, carnivore diet can help you to lose weight and increase your energy levels. It is also effective for reducing inflammation and balancing hormones.
This type of diet is also said to help with gut health, as it helps to improve digestion, boost the immune system and reduce inflammation in the body. This is because a high-fat diet increases good bacteria in your gut which then works to fight off bad bacteria that cause disease and illness.
How much fat?
Eating a lot of fat is a good idea. And not just the type of fat that's found in butter and lard, but also the kind you get from animals. Here's why:
Fats are not all created equal. Some fats are more easily converted into energy than others and help you feel full longer. Animal fats are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to decrease inflammation and improve insulin sensitivity.
Fat is tasty! Eating meat, fish, eggs and full-fat dairy products will make your meals more satisfying because they're packed with protein as well as calories in the form of saturated fat like butter or ghee (clarified butter). This combination makes for satiety—the feeling that you've eaten enough food—so it helps prevent overeating later on.
Fat is great for female hormones
Fat is great for female hormones. If you're going to eat something with fat in it, try to make sure that most of your fats are from healthy sources like butter and tallow.
The reason why we say this is because fat is so important for hormone health. Fat helps regulate the body's hormones and balance them out—which means everything will be running smoothly when you have enough fats in your system!
Try eating one or two sticks of butter a day! If you're looking to drop some weight, Dr Elisabeth Bright suggests eating one stick of butter a day. That's 8 tablespoons of the good stuff!
