RUSSIAN President Vladimir Putin walked on Moscow’s Red Square on Tuesday (November 8) to visit a military exhibition marking the anniversary of a World War Two parade.

Putin inspected Soviet tanks and soldiers dressed up in Red Army greatcoats as part of the historic parade in 1941, when Soviet soldiers marched towards the front lines during World War Two.

The celebration takes place as Russia suffers setbacks in its eight-month-long "special military operation" in Ukraine, where it faces a looming offensive from Ukrainian troops to retake the southern city of Kherson.
