Couple on £84,000-a-year benefits let girl sleep covered in poo next to dead dog

A couple who disregarded seven kids and 36 canines they kept in a dirty three-bed house while 'wasting' £84,000 a year in benefits have been imprisoned.

Christopher Bennett, 35, and Gemma Brogan, 41, were captured after officials called to a homegrown occurrence at their property in Eastbourne, Sussex, found the children residing in 'stunning and disgusting' conditions.

They later let a court know how they were met with a 'smell of excrement and pee' leaving them 'unfit to inhale typically' as well as a 'stunning' commotion coming from the many malnourished canines yapping and jumping around.

The house was 'thronw with disposed of attire, litter, decaying food and creature excrement's with 'almost no [edible] food' in the pantries.
A seven-year-old young lady with tangled hair was found sleeping on a couch wearing only a filthy nappy, with canine defecation spread on her skin and a dead canine close by.

The kids were promptly taken into care, where it was found that all had spoiled teeth while the most youthful ones coming up short on interactive abilities and 'didn't have the foggiest idea how to wash or clean their teeth'.

One must be put under broad sedative to eliminate 13 perilously rotted teeth, while one more was simply found to be blonde after their hair was washed a few times.

A subsequent young lady was frail to such an extent that she was temperamental on her feet and gone about 'as though she had never needed to communicate with individuals outside her family previously', investigator Amy Packham told the court.
Ms Packham said: 'Her discourse was poor and she had upsetting dietary patterns. She seemed to store food and checked with surprise at food in the refrigerator.'

One more youngster had been compelled to 'care for the more youthful ones' despite the fact that she was unable to peruse or compose and didn't have a clue about the times of the week or the months of the year.

Bennett and Brogan had 'deterred her from going to class saying it would make her restless and she would think that it is excessively hard', Ms Packham added.
In the interim, they drove a 'poisonous relationship' set apart with 'unpredictable episodes', for example, the one which drove officials to their home.
Bennett had called 999 himself and told the administrator he planned to cut Brogan.

The couple's 'wilful', 'delayed' and 'serious' incurred 'serious mental and formative damage' for every one of the seven kids, the court was told.

They conceded to seven counts of
Disregard against seven youngsters in their consideration between September 2019 and June 2021.

Brogan had recently been running a dance school in Eastbourne yet battled to adapt to an overall uneasiness problem and Bennett coming 'all through jail', her guard group said.
Condemning the pair to six years' prison each, Judge Stephen Mooney told them: 'You squandered £7000-a-month which ought to have been spent on the kids.

'It is beyond the realm of possibilities for any individual to understand the immensity of your downfalls.'

'Whatever was happening in their relationship, they ought to have been caring for those youngsters. How would you have 35 canines, £7,000 [a month] in benefits, how could this be permitted to occur?'

The couple had before been sentenced for making pointless experiencing the 'very underweight' canines, who were 'covered with every others' dung's and had been permitted to interbreed.
Notwithstanding their prison terms, Brogan was restricted from saving creatures for a long time while Bennett was prohibited from keeping creatures endlessly.
