💪🏼 💍 The age old spiritual triangle approach to Christian marriage enrichment of “you grow closer to Jesus. I’ll grow closer to Jesus and somehow we’ll automatically grow closer to each other” is not working because it is an incomplete concept. Marriage takes work (can we say thank you Adam and Eve!). God says in Proverbs 24:3-4 that through His wisdom (godly skill in daily living) a house is built. In the original Hebrew the word build, in this context, can also mean rebuild. As husband and wife, we need to regularly challenge our natural thinking and behavior with God’s true Agape Love and the wisdom of His Word, then consistently act on it. Oftentimes we have to do the opposite of our automatic inclinations.
