The UK government banned all service exports to Russia and imposed new sanctions on 63 individuals and organizations. These new sanctions cut off Russian access to things like management consulting, accounting services, PR services, and even legal representation. Additional sanctions were imposed on Sputnik and RT in the UK, even though neither outlet operates there. The Sputnik and RT UK social media pages and websites will now be seized. Even Irish journalist Bryan MacDonald was sanctioned. A former RT employee, MacDonald is now banned from the UK, and his assets there have been frozen. A pro-Russian Ukrainian blogger was arrested in Spain and will be extradited to Ukraine to face a charge of “high treason.” He has been living legally in Spain since 2016. The New York Times reported today those senior American officials confirm that they have provided a continual flow of intelligence to Ukraine that has allowed the Ukrainian military to kill approximately 12 Russian generals, a number that analysts call astonishing. The US is intercepting Russian communications and passing the information to the Ukrainians for targeting purposes. The Kremlin is carrying out strikes on Ukraine’s train system, according to the Washington Post. Those trains are critical to Ukraine’s ability to resupply its troops in the Donbas. And India said that it will continue to purchase Russian oil, not because it supports Moscow, but because the price is irresistible.

There is a very Canadian story. A 31-year-old Toronto woman who is confined to a wheelchair. She suffers from a chronic illness called Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. Smells from cigarette smoke, air fresheners, laundry detergent, and elsewhere cause her to suffer from blinding headaches, rashes, and difficulty breathing. She does not qualify for enough state assistance to be able to get a healthy apartment. And so, she is turning to assisted suicide, and she’s currently going through the application process. How is something like this even possible in Canada?
