Japan's top egg producer to set up $100m farm in Singapore, boosting local supplies

Local egg supplies in Singapore are set to almost double in five years. That's with the planned completion of the country's fourth egg farm, which can produce 360 million eggs and five million day-old chicks annually. Japan's top egg producer ISE Foods Holdings is investing more than $100 million in the planned facilities. This will boost Singapore's capacity to meet about half of its demand for eggs, up from about 28% now. Distributed over four plots totalling 13 hectares, the facilities are expected to start operations in phases from 2024 to 2026.
