Strong wind has hit greater Jakarta on March 5, 2022. As a result, a roof collapsed at Lippo Mall in Kemang Village, South Jakarta, on Saturday. A tree also fell on car in Pamulang, Banten, on the same day which caused traffic jams.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said, the extreme weather was caused by strong gusts from cumulonimbus clouds which moved from the Indian Ocean to the east and reached Greater Jakarta. The winds were accompanied by medium-intensity rainfall.

The BMKG has warned residents to stay alert during the extreme weather.
