In addition to the fact that they can breed, tigers and lions also have intriguing progeny.
However, the most intriguing aspect of their mating habits is the lack of a natural pairing between tigers and lions.

Approximately 100 ligers can be found worldwide. The world's biggest liger weights about 900 pounds. The average weight of lions and tigers is around two times higher.
