RUSSIAN SHELLING struck and partially damaged the administration building of the regional railway in Donetsk, the Russian-backed administration of the city said on Monday (November 7).

Firefighters were at the scene in the aftermath of the shelling, quelling a blaze inside the building and clearing debris.

Russian controlled Donetsk People’s Republic media said the building was hit by Ukrainian forces.

Donetsk fire department chief Sergei Neka, said two floors of the office block were destroyed and firefighters were tackling the blaze.

There were no reports of fatalities or injured people, head of the Russia-installed Donetsk administration Aleksey Kulemzin said in his Telegram channel. Public transport routes were changed to bypass the area, Kulemzin added.

There was no immediate reaction from Ukraine to the attack. Ukrainian media reported the incident quoting separatist sources.
