The Lake Christine Fire started July 3, 2018 after two gun owners illegally used tracer ammunition while practicing at the rifle range outside Basalt, Colorado.

This video shows the first hours of aerial firefighting efforts against the growing fire, including the initial aircraft attacks.

By September the Lake Christine Fire had burned over 12,000 acres.
