Harvest Now Ripe Fruits of Autumn!

Come brisk winds of autumn and gambol with leaves in flight.
Your delay to end this season weighs heavy on trees.
Forest, shed now frondescence, acorns plummet to ground,
Nuts mature to be saved for harsh chill of winter’s day.

Mounds of leaves ready for raking must grow higher yet
To pay summer’s debt for payment of sunshine and warmth.
Bonfires burn, fueled by cast off chaff of harvest’s bounty,
Yet flames flicker as embers turn not yet to cold ash.

Move on fair breezes of days long with simple pleasures.
Nature bows final curtsy as season’s wealth’s given.
Gifts of summer’s prosperity have lingered too long.
Quaff the cider -Tis time to harvest ripe fruit of autumn!

The season for enjoying the fullness of life - partaking of the harvest, sharing the harvest with others, and reinvesting and saving portions of the harvest for yet another season of growth. — Denis Waitley
