In the 18th century, Macaroni, a shopkeeper of noodles and pastas near Naples, Italy, had his young daughter roll the pastas into hollow strips and hang them on a clothes line as she played. Macaroni cooked the hollow strips and tossed them with tomato sauce. He later built the world's first macaroni factory and named it after himself.
