Knaresborough Viaduct is in the North Yorkshire town of Knaresborough, England. The viaduct runs over the over the River Nidd and carries the Harrogate rail line.

The viaduct was supposed to have opened in 1848, but the first construction collapsed into the river very near to completion. The rebuilt viaduct was opened on 1st October 1851 and was constructed with castellated walls and piers to blend in with the ruined walls of Knaresborough Castle.

The viaduct can be seen from Knaresborough Castle. The castle was first built by a Norman baron around 1100 on a cliff above the River Nidd and is a regular viewpoint for the viaduct .

This is some old drone footage taken back in January 2018. Would like to take another trip back to Knaresborough someday, as it's a beautiful location!
