A man accused of driving through a Pentagon checkpoint and toward officers last week allegedly said he, "hates America and was trying to kill people, "as he was being apprehended. An attempt to raise a secondary barrier on his way into the Pentagon allegedly failed because the vehicle was moving too fast. Agents stated the man then continued to drive toward the Pentagon. Officers eventually stopped the driver by using their Cruisers to pin his SUV against a parked car. The suspect in custody was arrested and is now in custody. Reportedly, charges will be brought against 36 year-old, Tamirat Yehualawork, described by CNN as an Ethiopian national who entered the country on a visa, although his immigration status remains unclear. Yehualawork is said to be charged with using a vehicle as a weapon to intimidate, resist, and impede federal police officers.
