WE sailed to Fakarava just at the right time for the most epic dive ever! We happen to be in this atoll of French Polynesia for an event that only happens once a year and this time it's happening all below the surface.

Every June, on the full moon over 10,000 groupers come to the South Pass of Fakarava to spawn on the biggest tidal swing of the year. We were witness to the congregation for a truly unforgettable and honestly pretty unbelievable event. With the large gathering of groupers also triggered one of the largest gatherings of grey reef sharks and we were in the middle of it all.
