Demonstration against the mega-basin

clashes this Saturday in Sainte-Soline during the demonstration against the mega-basin. The Minister of the Interior announced the maintenance of more than 1000 gendarmes in the area to prevent the installation of a ZAD.

The face-to-face between the opponents of an agricultural basin project and the police could continue in Sainte-Soline (Deux-Sèvres). "More than a thousand gendarmes will remain while we make sure that no ZAD [zone to be defended] is built," announced the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, claiming to act "at the request of the President of the Republic".

Objective affirmed by the government: to prevent any creation of a "Zone to be defended", a few years after that of Notre-Dame-des-Landes.
