Why do people start carnivore diets in the first place? Most of them do it to lose weight, build muscle, and reduce inflammation.
People who want to lose fat typically start this approach because they've seen other people's carnivore weight loss results and are curious about whether it will work for them too. In addition to protein, how much dietary fat should you eat? According to Dr. Bergman (and many other experts), the recommended daily intake for saturated fat is 1 gram per kilogram (2.2 pounds) of lean body mass which translates into about 1/3 cup per day for someone who weighs 150 lbs or 70 kg and eats no carbs at all (more info here). This can be adjusted according to other factors such as activity level and sleep quality, but it seems like a good starting point for most people right now!
