S12aE24 - Carburetor Replacement on a STIHL® MS271 Chainsaw

So, long story short, I generally fix my own stuff but since I didn’t need this anytime soon, I thought I’d support local and let “professional” Stihl dealership fix it. Well, their price was a bit dear so I just bought parts and did it myself. You can too. But $1,200/hr is a bit much in this economy. They first quoted me “it’s about $30.” Nope quickly it went to $60+ dollars plus labour and tax. I bought the carb and air cleaner having recently changed plugs and though – somewhere, someone might want to see this 5 minute job. I’m not a small engine mechanic and have never worked on another Stihl saw. So I can’t address other models or older/newer MS271s. There is some value in seeing my “MS271 Specialty Tool. © 2022 Del Hollow Productions
