Covering the police beat for my newspaper involved actively responding to crime scenes of burglaries, assaults, murders, and the never-ever routine traffic stop. One of the Law Officers assigned to the area was Maryland State Trooper Joe Appleby, as seen in these photos with suspects and people under arrest for DWI and various other crimes.
