Have A Very Apro "Poe” Halloween!

I heard a tap, tapping at my door.
Was it a monster returning to settle a score
for a prank staged long ages ago?
Horrors! I shivered from head to toe.
Curses! With speedy advice and help of The Black Cat,
I had taken hostage a Raven possessed by Poe.

With trepidation, I chanced a peek.
Oh no! Standing in wait was a heartless, telltale freak.
He wore a cape and Masque of Death Red,
retrieved from his Haunted Palace bed.
A haunt where a treasured Gold-Bug sat,
and viewed with The Spectacles dark Spirits of The Dead.

Perchance he’d come to imbibe and dine.
Stood nearby was insane Hop-Frog with a flask of wine.
He had a passel of others too;
The Sphinx, The Sleeper, and of course, You!
Gathered ‘round The Oblong Box to chat
rumors of Berenice and The Murders in The Morgue Rue.

The Pit and the Pendulum ticked on.
The Purloined Letter’s message summoned me to be gone.
The Fall of the House of Usher boomed,
as The Premature Burial loomed.
Ligeia on her death bed did then tell
The Cask of Amontillado was now surely doomed.

The Ms. Found in a Bottle bobbed
telling me William Wilson had been recently robbed.
The Oval Portrait glared then at me.
Eleonara gasped and did agree.

Morella nodded that all was true.
The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar confirmed it to you!
