While inflation has impacted many Canadians and the businesses they shop at, McDonald's' recent third-quarter numbers show customers are still "lovin' it," with the numbers beating estimates showing despite higher prices, people kept coming back to eat. Global's Anne Gaviola speaks with The Peak Daily podcast's Brett Chang about why the fast-food giant appears to be in a sweet spot both in increasing prices, while also boosting customers.

The pair then speak about the global shortage of semiconductor chips and how it's leaving car-maker Toyota having to provide new vehicle owners with one smart key but also a regular key. Chang says there's a debate whether it's car companies not properly forecasting how many chips they'll need or car manufacturers putting the blame on supply chain issues.

And Credit Suisse reported a bad third-quarter, with losses hitting more than US$4 billion and is taking a make-or-break makeover involving cutting at first hundreds and then thousands of jobs. Gaviola and Chang look into what's causing the cuts and what it could mean for those who use the bank.
