General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) says it completed a major test series with the US Army and Navy to develop gun-launched defensive projectile interceptor design concepts. Many test firings were conducted with the assistance of the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center or the DEVCOM-AC for short and the Naval Surface Warfare Center - Dahlgren Division also called NSWC-DD. Identical projectile models were shot from a railgun at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico as well as a powder gun at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. Here’s what we know so far.
