Rumble Ahoy!

In early 2020, YouTube started demonetising or deleting content that talked about COVID. The pandemic was single-handedly the biggest event in most of our lives, but YouTube decided to censor us talking about it in order to “protect us” from harmful misinformation. Two-and-a-half years later, they’re still censoring content. I only had a video deleted two days ago because I dared speak about an article published in an Australian newspaper about heart-related illness. It’s not illegal to talk about these things. It’s not immoral. But for whatever reason, YouTube have decided to become the arbiters of free speech. We didn’t ask them to take on that role. They just did it.

It’s modern day book burning. It’s no different from 1930s Germany where soldiers gathered around bonfires of books written by authors such as Sigmund Freud and Albert Einstein. I quite enjoy Freud’s commentary on the matter: “In the Middle Ages, they would have burned me, now they are satisfied with burning my books”. Book burning brought in an era of state censorship and cultural control. The only difference nowadays is that YouTube is not a country. It’s a private company that’s decided that it knows better than the rest of us, and will delete you if you say something it doesn’t like. No more fires, just a quick press of the delete key.

Anyway, that’s why I’m moving over to Rumble. (You can click on the link shown in the banner of my YouTube channel homepage, or I’ve also posted the link in the description of this video). Not all my content is on Rumble (it’s currently being processed), but I’m just tired of YouTube telling me what I should and shouldn’t talk about. Of course, I’ll keep my YouTube channel and continue publishing simultaneously as long as YouTube allow me (they keep paying me for some reason), but I’m not going to be threatened by them any longer.

Russel Brand has also recently created a Rumble channel. Dr John Campbell is over there too. The Reuters News Agency is there, and even Donald Trump’s on Rumble! A lot of big names are now on Rumble because YouTube are book-burning idiots.

Look, I’m all for YouTube protecting children and deleting illegal content, but they’ve gone much too far. Me talking about a vaccine is not illegal, so why are YouTube deleting my videos? There are so many rules to keep track of, I don’t even think YouTube know which rules they are enforcing half the time.
