First time Dubai: Visiting a FAKE old market in Dubai? 🇦🇪

On my first full day in Dubai I had plenty of time to head out and try the public transport as well as exploring parts of old Dubai. I ended up at a fake old market near Dubai Creek, but why is there an entire fake old market? Is Dubai entirely fake then, like so many people have told me before? I mean, the old souk, the old trade district of Dubai, are nearby, so why really?
