What can Danielle Smith do to advance the prospect of independence for Albertans?

Danielle Smith can do what is straightforward, legal, and can be done within 18 to 24 months, and that is to take over policing, pensions, immigration, employment insurance and provincial tax collection.

Where the rubber meets the road is by taking control of federal taxation, getting out from under equalization, getting rid of the carbon tax, getting out from under the restrictions of the Canada Health Act, etc.

But this takes a constitutional change...

The truth is the the government of Alberta cannot negotiate successfully with the federal government of Canada without the leverage provided by a successful referendum on Alberta independence. We have been traveling across Alberta , educating Albertans, on this fact and collecting signatures for our petition to pressure our government to hold a referendum.
