Russia claims Ukraine and the West are plotting to use a 'dirty bomb' against them in shocking statement.

The commander in charge of Russia's nuclear, biological and chemical defence, General Igor Kirillov, echoed remarks by Russian Defence minister Sergei Shoigu who warned Western and Turkish counterparts over the weekend of a Ukrainian conspiracy to deploy a "dirty bomb."

Speaking in Moscow on Monday (October 24), General Kirillov said the purpose of such a provocation was to accuse Russia of using weapons of mass destruction in 'the Ukrainian theatre of war." He added that the government in Kyiv wanted to "terrify the local population, to increase the exodus of refugees (to Europe) and present the Russian Federation as a nuclear terrorist."
