Reva's ORIGINAL Death Revealed...Why did Lucasfilm Change This

The original Reva story had her dying to Darth Vader as a redemption of her character, and pledge to help Obi-Wan. I think I like the original ending better. What do you think? This would also have taken Vader off of Kenobi's trail, leading into star wars a new hope.
