DC COMICS Will NOT Be LICENSED OUT, Warner Bros CEO David Zaslav Would NEVER Allow It!
Warner Brothers Discovery is looking for their own head of DC films and TV to lead a 10 year effort to duplicate the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe under Kevin Feige. If DC Comics can't handle publishing their own comic books, would investors, directors, actors, fans, really believe they can handle a new, massive film slate? Warner Brothers Discovery CEO David Zaslav would never take a chance with the perception his company could not produce their own comic books when they are pushing a brand new film slate. For this any many other reasons, there will be no mass licensing out of DC Comics to other comic book publishers!

DC's properties may be getting licensed out more in adaptations, and this trend could revolutionize the trajectory of comic books, as well.
DC Comics Potentially Licensing Its Characters Is Revolutionary for Comics
DC Comics is one of many properties owned by the multimedia conglomerate now known as Warner Bros. Discovery. The potential of the characters of the DC Universe exists across movies, TV shows, cartoons, video games, and of course, comic books. In the case of many of the former, it seems that current company president David Zaslav wishes to begin licensing out DC's lineup. Such actions may soon be reflected in the comics, as well.
Licensing out DC's heroes for use in other publishers' works opens the door wide open to get even more readers flocking to DC Comics. It's already being explored via an upcoming crossover with Todd McFarlane's pride and joy Spawn, and it could even see DC crossing over with Marvel Comics once again. Here's how licensing out DC characters could completely change the game in comic books.

Since David Zaslav has taken over Warner Bros. Discovery, there's been a wave of upheaval, though not all is as negative as it may appear. In the case of recently canceled productions such as the cartoon Batman: Caped Crusader and the HBO Max Constantine series, it seems that all hope isn't lost for them. These shows are supposedly being shopped around to other streaming services. Seeing new DC content on a platform on a platform besides HBO Max is rather strange, but it's also a stroke of potential financial genius. DC could productions made of their characters without having to foot the production bill, all the while still reaping money through licensing.
The idea seems to be trickling down to comic books as well, with Image Comics founder Todd McFarlane working on a comic that once pits Batman against his iconic Spawn. Beforehand, McFarlane had actually been hesitant to directly work with DC on a comic book, but his level of hype and the success of both the Batman and Spawn properties is undeniable to either party. Marc Silvestri, another Image founder, is also going to be working on a Batman title, though this is only under DC's stable through their Black Label imprint. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the door is open for more intercompany crossovers, à la the 1990s, and this could see more creators outside of DC working on their characters.

DC's Licensed Future Could See Other Publishers Work With Their Characters
A few Batman comics are one thing, but DC licensing out characters could see the Justice League, the Teen Titans, and everyone in between show up in books that otherwise have nothing to do with DC Comics. One example would be the recent Fortnite crossover comics, though there have been issues involving the Marvel Universe, as well.
