Vaccination Status Mortality Rates, England, May 2022

We take a look at some data from a UK Government department, the Office for National Statistics, titled, “Deaths by vaccination status, England”, released last month on 6 July 2022. Now I commend England for publishing this data, because many jurisdictions around the world simply don’t, including most states in Australia (except perhaps New South Wales which publishes some data). The data includes age-standardised mortality rates, but is only available in Excel spreadsheet format. Age-standardised mortality rates are calculated using a complicated-looking formula, but it’s all been done for us, so this allows us to compare data.

This is the latest data (from May this year) noting that this is for people whose death involved COVID-19. Later in this video, I discuss non-COVID-related deaths by vaccination status which yields some pretty interesting results.
