In Africa, majestic wild giraffes compete for dominance.

Some of the world's most majestic and stunning animals can be found on the African plain.The grasslands of Kenya, a large country on the west side of Africa, are home to these wild giraffes.A herd of giraffes grazes and wanders in the sun deep within the grasslands.These tallest land dwellers are always on the lookout for predators and have a vantage point from which they can see far-off lions and other big cats.The giraffes enjoy their leisurely free roaming.
However, there is a hierarchy that must be upheld within the herd.Bulls, these young males, can reach nearly 6 meters (18 feet) in height and weigh up to 1,500 kilograms (3,600 lbs).They are enormous and powerful.The bulls are constantly comparing notes and pointing out who is in charge to each other.When two mature males are present, the fight that ensues typically causes one of them to leave the herd.
These young bulls are just starting to put one another to the test.They strike each other with their necks or even their hooves as they swing their massive heads.The conflicts will become more bloody as they get older and more powerful.However, for the time being, this is merely a minor argument that resulted in no injuries and accomplished little.When the time comes, these fights will also help the giraffes learn how to fight predators.
A lot of herbivores depend on the herd's safety and ability to stop even the most determined lion.A cat could die from a hit with these antlers or from a well-placed hoof.Most of the time, they won't attack a giraffe if it looks tired or hurt or if it moves too far away from the others.If necessary, a mother giraffe will ferociously defend her calf, frequently killing multiple lions.
