I met Prairie Homesteader - Jill Winger today!

My partner and I celebrated our 7th anniversary today and we decided to travel to Chugwater, WY to the Soda Fountain shop. Jill Winger from Prairie Homestead, now called Old Fashioned on Purpose purchased the Soda Fountain shop a little over a year ago and has transitioned it beautifully while keeping all of the aesthetics of the historic building. She just happened to be standing outside when we pulled in and I gave her seeds I've collected. I had them sorted and labeled for her and she was extremely nice. I did not record while I was at the shop or meeting her because it is our anniversary and I do not want to invade her privacy since she's on camera so much already.

We had a delightful lunch and a good time speaking with her. I decided to hop on live to discuss meeting her and seeing the Soda Fountain in Chugwater.

I have been gardening for over 35 years having began helping with enormous market field gardening in the early 80's when I was no more than 6 years old. I grew up in the East Tennessee mountains on a small hobby farm with a 1/4 acre garden, a chicken coop filled with chickens, ducks, geese, turkey's, and I've had experience with horses, mules, cattle, pigs, donkey's, etc. I've always had a desire to garden, farm, and live a sustainable life.
