We made it to Kentucky in our Chevy Colorado ZR2 AEV Bison!! Our overlanding journey started early in the morning at the northern point of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway near Callie’s Campground. We set off in a counterclockwise direction. Our plan was to spend two days in Kentucky off-roading, wheeling, crossing streams and rivers, and doing some general adventuring.

We would end up doing a little more than 100 miles on this first day. We transitioned from the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway to the Kentucky Adventure Tour. In some places they do overlap, but the start of our journey was on the DBBB. We hit some great spots like Furnace-Pilot Road, Watson's Ridge Road, Patsey Road, Red's Hollow Road, we passed Hollerwood Off-Road Park, Fixer Road, drove through Beatyville, Spencer Ridge Road, CR1241, Turkey Foot Road, Hard 2, and we ended this day at the S-Tree Cmapground.

It was really wild to get into some different terrain. The winding mountain roads, the gravel going up elevation and then back down into the valleys, and the rocky, rutted trails. We saw and marked spots for tent camping, car camping, and other areas of interest. It was a super scenic ride. We saw abandoned industry like mines and oil derricks. There were a lot of pipes and things running along the streams. I was curious f there were any good fish. In some places, I would not think so.

All in all this was a super fun ride. I would much rather do it with a group, because there are things best shared! Check out our video, like it, and subscribe to our channel!!!!
