ADA stands for Air Defense Artillery. This has a long and proud history the has its roots in coastal artillery. As the nature of warfare changed, coastal artillery focused on air defense threats.

When aircraft eclipsed ship to shore bombardment as the greatest threat, the Army invented anti-aircraft missiles that were designed to shoot down Soviet bombers.

The Patriot missile is the Army's premier air defense missile. This system is essentially the Army's strategic power projection platform. The system has a range of roughly 99 miles 160 Kilometers and can track and engage over 100 targets simultaneously in fully automated mode.

NOTE: I have taken some creative and operational security liberties with the Patriot Radar screen. The the real Patriot is an Oreo, this is the Hydrox.
