I’ve Never Seen It This Bad!

Drought conditions in Kentucky are becoming severe and we are feeling it here on our farm. Our pastures are looking especially bad and our pond has all but dried up. We’re going to make the best of an unfortunate circumstance by trimming back some of the overgrown trees around the pond.

Our little pond is almost dry. It’s a shame but thankfully at the moment we’re not watering any livestock (or fish) out of it. We decided it was a great chance to trim some of the trees that are hanging over the water, limiting access as well as our view.

I’m using a Homelite 240 chainsaw to do the trimming. Right now this is my best running little saw – at least it was until about halfway through filming. It is frustrating but when you use old equipment there will always be moments when things need to be worked on.

Thanks for hanging out with our family today! Coming up next week we’ll have a video on cleaning out one of barn stalls (spoiler alert: it’s hard). Make sure you’re subscribed if you want to see how we get it done!
