Manure! Good for you! - E112

The old John Deere loads up the truck just fine! The new Yard sled is easily pulled by REX the RK25 Tractor out of the loaded truck and the garden gets a big lift to the soil!

I don’t believe that animals are harming the planet or causing climate change. I’m not a fan of factory farms in any way as I think they have to use much more chemicals, etc to keep the herd healthy.
Today we go and fill the RAM truck with a load of good, wholesome, sheep manure. The barn needs emptied this time of year now that we loaded the hay up. The barn will be closed at some point when it gets real cold and when the lambs are born.
Sheep manure when out in the sun does not smell hardly at all. Mix it with mulch and the wood absorbs the smell even more. Thats the same for human excrement too. We do not have to discard human waste in rivers or underground as some municipalities treat and release, putting high amounts of nitrogen in lakes and streams. Manure can be used quickly and effectively by mixing it with wood chips. It can then be reused for once again without bringing in chemical fertilizers. This is a basic way that vermicomposting toilets work. Worms process our manure and we have good dirt for our trees and gardens. It should sit a couple of years before reusing. It’s probably not a good idea to use waste from people who have heavy metal prescriptions.

What can you do with manure? Mix it and put it on your gardens in the fall so it breaks down all winter, of course! Chicken, sheep, and other animal manure have a very high amount of nitrogen and putting it “green” directly on trees and plants can also burn them. Let it “cool” with wood chips.
