Ukraine, whose energy infrastructures were seriously damaged by Russian attacks, carried out a one-day mandatory energy savings on Thursday, Oct. 20.

In order to ensure that the undamaged systems can operate without interruption while the repair of damaged energy infrastructures continues, the Ukrainian government called on the public to save electricity.

After the call, almost all the lights were turned off across Ukraine and the country was plunged into darkness.
