UK Prime Minister Liz Truss enjoying her resignation after only 44 days in office

Shortest-serving prime minister in British history Liz Truss resigned Thursday October 20th after just 44 days in office.

Truss who was elected by the Conservative party said “I recognize though, given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative Party. I have therefore spoke to His Majesty the King to announce that I am resigning as the leader of the Conservative Party”

Members of her own party called for her to step down during a Wednesday meeting with Graham Brady (The conservative politician in charge leadership votes) claiming they no longer support her.

According to Truss a new replacement will be chosen within the next week.
