Planes skimming over the beach and the ability to get so close to the runway make it a huge draw for tourists and “avgeeks” (plane enthusiasts), who flock to take photos.
Videos of “dangerous” landings regularly do the rounds on social media, as do selfies of swimwear-clad tourists sunbathing as a plane passes over them.
Skiathos (Greek: Σκιάθος, Latin forms: Sciathos and Sciathus) is a small island in the Aegean Sea belonging to Greece. Skiathos is the westernmost island in the Northern Sporades group of islands. The mainland of Greece and Magnesia lie to the west, while the island of Skopelos lies to the east.
