LEADERS MUST BE LIKABLE TO BUILD INFLUENCE BUT LIKABILITY IS NOT THE END GAME

“More important than the notoriety, the popularity, the reputation of one who is the founder and leader of a massive cause, is their likability. Please don’t mistake that phrase for simply the attributes which make one a friendly face or cool to hang out with. It also represents commonality, shared core values, common interest or concerns as well as easy to get along with. In other words, ‘know, like and trust’ as Bob Burg would say. It would also represent the ability to represent the cause with integrity and courage. Their willingness to make sacrifices for the good of the cause falls under this umbrella. However, in the end, the legacy and longevity of the cause which chose you as it’s leader is exponentially more important than your own ego, reputation or accomplishments.” J Loren Norris
