I appreciate that this is from RT but....
For several months, Donetsk has been under intense shelling from Ukrainian armed forces. People are admitted to local hospitals with wounds caused by Ukrainian shells, mines and shrapnel.
Amputations are among the most common operations here these days. After a mine wound, it’s virtually impossible to save damaged limbs.
On top of numerous shelling and rocket attacks on Donetsk, the Ukrainian military now uses remote mines in residential areas. Ukrainian nationalists go as far as planting explosives in playgrounds, even in toys. Very often, even schools and kindergartens become targets.
Hundreds of Russian servicemen are engaged in demining the liberated territories of Donbass. What does it take to do such a dangerous job?
