Top 10 Of The Most Famous Funny Fake Commercials

These commercials are famous in the sense that they are widespread on YouTube and the internet, they are funny, at least in my opinion, and they are fake, meaning they are not real commercials. Some of them are “spec ads” which is short for “speculative advertisement” created to show what one can do and to win a client or an agency, some are professional “parody advertisements” of existing advertising campaigns and others are just spoof videos made for fun or fictional advertising from movies.

I made this video because I like them and I hope you like them too. I also did it because I wanted to pay respect to the makers of these ads who had great ideas and put a lot of effort into their work, as well as to clear up a certain misrepresentation – some of these ads have been uploaded as “banned commercials” which is nonsense, or as real ads which is not the case. I was a victim of this wrong information when I was searching for ads for new videos. Also, viewers often ask me in the comments why I didn’t include this commercial or that one, knowing that the commercial is not real. So here it is to entertain and to inform.

BUT: As awful as it sounds, I made a mistake - the Tuborg commercial #7 is a real commercial! I apologize for the error and thank Nini Rossau for the information and Dabitch from Adland for the confirmation. Usually, fake commercials are mistaken for real, in this case, it was the other way around. I congratulate the Danish people on their humor!

These ads are included:

1. Wodka Vodka, “Dominatrix” from 2012 by Chris Sanders (“I slaved all day”)

2. “Nutri-Grain” from 2003 by Turnpikes Films (Justin Reardon) became very famous with its punchlines “I feel great”, “Babies everywhere” etc.

3. “Pepsi” with Cindy Crawford and James Corden from 2016, a funny remake of the iconic Pepsi commercial from 1992 that was aired during "The Late Late Show with James Corden"

4. Guinness, “Good times” or “Share one with a friend” from 2008 by DESchatz who made it “just for fun” and 320 Dollars (300 for the actress, the rest for food and a six-pack of Guinness)

5. VW Volkswagen Polo, “Suicide Bomber” from 2005 by Stuart Fryer who made it to show it to advertising agencies “for showreel purposes”. Lee Ford and Dan Brooks posted it on their website and it became a viral hit on the internet. VW threatened to sue them but didn’t, the ad was taken down and they apologized. (Polo. 6. Mentos, “Traffic light” from 2010, a movie by Igor Corbeau, Dorus Oerlemans, and Frank Hesselink with Sjors Stassen, Ellen Bijsterbosch, Frank Hesselink, Evrim Kurc, and Guido de Wijs – an outstanding Mentos ad parody.

7. Tuborg, "Hallucination", “One more Tuborg please” from 1994 or 2006 by Peter Wibroe, Duckert & Partners

8. 11.5 Ford SportKa, "Cat Decapitation" from 2004 was produced by the staff of the agency Ogilvy & Mather UK who produced the famous Ford SportKa commercial “Pigeon” in 2003 in which a pigeon is being bashed by the hood. They did it to present the new SportKa as Ford Ka’s evil twin because the previous was perceived as being too humble. The Pigeon had to be taken down due to many complaints. Then the Cat video appeared online and went viral. The agency apologized, and Ford said they never knew it was even made.

9. Pringles, “Tiny Hands” from 2012 about an anthropologist and an Amazonian tribe – this is a professional commercial apparently from Grey Mexico who, after the ad went viral, responded, that “Grey Mexico never authorized the work for broadcast” and that they “do not endorse any part of the it”.

10. “Dunkaccino” with Al Pacino for Dunkin’ Donuts from the Adam Sandler comedy “Jack and Jill” from 2011

11. “Fuck you Baltimore” or “Big Bill Hell's” from 1990, a parody commercial for a fictionally used car dealership made for the faux award show by the Advertising Association of Baltimore called The Ad Follies. It was meant to mock the advertising agencies, the makers are unknown. Since 2006 it has been uploaded several times and became a hit, ranked #1 on the list of Associated Content's Top 10 YouTube Videos. ("F You Baltimore”, "Fuck you, Baltimore! If you're dumb enough to buy a new car this weekend, you're a big enough schmuck to come to Big Bill Hell's Cars” and others)

11.5 “Balashikha ad”, also called “Бонжур, епта” or “BonJour Epta!”, a spoof video/trailer for the upcoming "Studio 17" by the Russian TNT - it is quite well known in Russia and many viewers ask for it.

By the way, I didn’t include any of the famous SNL parody commercials from Saturday Night Live because these are no actual commercials with laughter in it and a far too long duration.
