Allison Pejovic & the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms are fighting for you!

In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Allison Pejovic have a conversation about some of the cases she is working on and how she hopes they turn out, her role in the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms and the impact they are having, .

Allison graduated from law school at the University of Ottawa in 2003 and was Called to the Bar of Manitoba in 2004. She articled and practiced in the litigation department of a large full-service law firm in Winnipeg for 5 years. In 2008, Allison moved to Toronto to pursue a Masters’ degree in Environmental Law and Policy from the University of Toronto. Allison wrote her Masters’ thesis: “Freshwater, Law, and Game Theory: Strategies for Navigating the Troubled Waters of a Canada / U.S. Bulk Water Export Conflict” and it was published in the peer-reviewed Queen’s Law Journal in 2010. After completing her Masters’ degree, Allison was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2009 and spent a year at a leading national law firm in Toronto.

After some time in Toronto Allison returned to Winnipeg in 2011, and spent the next nine years as a Crown counsel arguing Charter motions and other constitutional legal issues before every level of court in Manitoba, and the Canada Labor Board. Allison joined the Justice Centre in 2020, and is excited to advocate for justice and the protection of personal rights and freedoms.

Founded in 2010 as a voice for freedom in Canada's courtrooms, the mission of the Justice Centre is to defend the constitutional freedoms of Canadians through litigation and education. We fight for Canada to become and remain a free society, where the equality of all Canadians and their individual freedoms are celebrated and respected. As a public interest, non-partisan law firm and registered charity, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms provides legal representation free of charge, to protect the rights and freedoms of all Canadians, which are guaranteed under our constitution. Since their founding in 2010, they have been involved in more than 84 legal files with a small but dedicated legal staff.

Allison shares her motivations for becoming a part of the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms, how she plans to continue her work with them, and some of the things she plans to do to ensure a promising future for generations to come.
